The artist of the original painting titled it: Our Lord of The Sea and it was done for the June 1944 cover publication of The Catholic Church Extension Society's monthly magazine Extensions. I asked and received permission from the Society to use this as the logo for The Helmsman's Compass. I have received inquiries from sailors from many different nations about this image and have had many special requests to provide it in different sizes. This 12" x 16" print on canvas seems to be just right. Rendering it on canvas really makes it look like an original painting. It really is beautiful. This, too, will become a Treasured, Family heirloom.
